What is UP with Mr. Restti?!?!?

There is something completly wrong with this character. He's annoying, grumpy, and can possibly scare little children (says Nintendo). He gives me the creeps. I mean, what is Mr. Restti's purpose and who gave the guy the OK to put him in. Discuss...What is UP with Mr. Restti?!?!?
So u never ever EVER shut off animal crossing without saving...or he'll find you...and make you payWhat is UP with Mr. Restti?!?!?
He's Nintendo's messed up way to try and stop people from resetting the game without saving. He's also meant to seem kind of funny.
He's meant to deter you from resetting, duh. People who obey him wont need to deal with him.
He's meant to be a comedic relief character who prevents you from turning off your game and somehow cheating.

This character warns you and gives you a lecture not to turn off any animal crossing game without saving.
Oh, good ol` Resetti...I just love when he goes nuts... :P
He's there to keep you from resetting the game so that people play the game the way it was meant to be played.The only problem is that I find his rants hilarious, so I actually want to shut off the game without saving just to see what he says. Some of those rants are LOOOONG.
Anyway, why shutting down without saving is so wrong to Nintendo create a maniac to keep us from doing that?
I remember one time when my game froze and I had to face his wrath... will never exit that game without saving, ever.
i don't get it...why does nintendo care so much about people shutting down without saving?

you can do it if you want... Nintendo isnt stopping you from doing it just making it a bit more annoying
