any ideas on whats wrong with my wii

hi i'm new to this site and hoping someone can help me.i bought a wii back in march and has worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago. i put a game in and the wii started making a funny noise so took the game out and on the back of the disc the wii has produced a circle on it. so i tried a different game and the same thing happened. i haven't touched it since.
my partners brother said it could possibly be the laser thats causing it to produce circles on the disk and my local wii retailer said it might be that the laser has been knocked and moved out of position.just would like your thoughts on this. has anyone else had a similar problem.i'm hoping to send it to nintendo to get it repaired but not sure if i can as i no longer have the reciept for it (i did have it in my wallet but was mugged a few months after purchasing the wii:( ) do you still need the reciept as proof of purchase or not? i have proof on my bank statement. thanks for any help on this as my partner has got a wiifit as an xmas present from her mum and know how much she wants the wii to be fixed. any ideas on whats wrong with my wii
Don't need the slipThe serial number was activated when you purchased the console. Just call up Nintendo (number's in my sig) and tell them what's going on and they'll take it in for repairs. any ideas on whats wrong with my wii
