Im not sure about everyone else, but I want a 3D pokemon with gameplay elements from the handheld versions! Just imagine, in full 3D, starting off in your room, looking at your Wii, plasma screen, going downstairs and talking to your mom, going to professor whoever and getting your starter pokemon. Just to awesome. Being able to battle similar to pokemon colosseum, riding your bike around each town, surf with w/e pokemon, fly to ANY of the regions made so far and capture any pokemon, with full 3D detail.... but one can only wish. Nintendo probably wont even attempt it.Full 3-D Pokemon Wii game with handheld ...
It's a bad idea for Nintendo to even attempt itThe Pokemon franchise is one of the two most important franchises Nintendo has. Mario drives the consoles while Pokemon drives the handhelds. In Pokemon's case the main game will, and always should, be on the handheld, I mean it's called pocket monsters lol There's always room for console versions that let you expand on the core game like Battle Revolution and Ranch but that's it.It would be in Nintendo's worst interest to even consider a full fledged console version of Pokemon.Full 3-D Pokemon Wii game with handheld ...
I've been wanting this forever, but I want a huge connected world not just connected corridors like the handheld versions. Controllable flying would be awesome imagine flying over towns, mountains and lakes and spotting wild pokemon and trainers down below. Realistically I don't think It's possible with the Wii's power and the size limitations of a DVD. It would be possible on PC though, but I'd rather play it on a Nintendo system. Maybe next generation, but by then I'll be too busy to play it.

It WOULD be a great alternative... but as you said, main pokemon series has, and probably always will be a handheld series.Lol, and I never noticed that pocket monsters-handheld thing.

I realize that Pokemon drives handhelds, but why can't they also be on consoles with the same type of gameplay?

What I've been wondering is should they make a cel shaded game that resembles the TV show or continue with the 3D models.

No. What Jaysonguy said.
No. What Jaysonguy said.
Why not? Exploring the world of Pokemon in 3D is every Pokemon fan's wet dream.
The Wii needs a Pokemon game specifically for online competitive battling, with the ability to find random matches against people with the same preferences as you, ie. number of Pokemon each, ubers on/off etc.Battle Revolution's online sucks because of the 3 vs 3 restriction and the amount of inexperienced battlers. I'd be satisfied if Diamond and Pearl had random match options, but hopefully they'll fix that in Platinum.
It sounds good in theory but it might be a while before it can work. I never played Pokemon XD but I was told it attempted this exact idea but fell short (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm not saying it can't be done, maybe if Nintendo enlisted Square Enix or got a good portion of the Zelda team on it.....
Nah... too much effort for Nintendo.

This would be a GREAT idea for Nintendo to attempt, they just have to do it right. A full 3D Pokemon RPG has been my dream since Pokemon Red-Blue. Just think a broad world that could rival that of Zelda TP, online battling (based on # of gym badges or friend battles), online trading, interaction with Pokemon games on DS too. Please Nintendo bring a FULL Pokemon RPG to wii.
I'd love to see Nintendo and Blizzard come together and make a full blown Pokemon MMO for PC... But I'd also like to have a Million dollars.
I think it would be pretty sweet in 3-D...flinging you wii controller to throw a pokeball/cast your fishing rod duh...Creating your own character!!!...walking through bigger worlds/caves that don't take forever haha...to me it would be a good idea i'd buy it and fans who played pokemon red and blue on the gameboy would go CRAZY
Pokemon should be a MMORPG. It's like the games are made to be MMO -- a perfect fit.
Nah,Pokemon needs to stay on the Handhelds.
