That I don't know. Both of those are in the North American region, but I still don't know about gifting a US game to Canada.

I've been on the receiving end of that once. I live in Canada and the sender was in the US and it didn't work, so I had to change my region on my Wii to US temporarily. Edit: Changing from Canada to US or Vice Versa is do-able, but switching to, let's say, Canada to Japan to receive or send a gift wouldn't work.

It will work, I have received a gift from someone in Canada and Im in the US.
