Where's Majora's Mask on Virtual Console ...

Let's see: Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time... where's Majora's Mask? Every single Zelda game from the NES, SNES, and N64 has hit the VC except for MM. I've heard it was really good, but I didn't start console gaming until the Gamecube, so I never got to play it. I would love to see MM on the VC, and I know I would download it. Post here if you want Nintendo to give it new life on the Wii!Where's Majora's Mask on Virtual Console ...
I've heard, and I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, that Majora's Mask can't come out because it used the N64 expansion pak. Where's Majora's Mask on Virtual Console ...
It's not there. Just be patient, it'll come eventually.
I've heard, and I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, that Majora's Mask can't come out because it used the N64 expansion pak.
i don't see why thats true, the wii's specs should be good enough to still emulate it.
cant come because it you cant save on the game without a expansion pack or something
cant come because it you cant save on the game without a expansion pack or something
Thats just a rumor (unless there is an article i havent read). I think nintendo could do it eventually. even if the expansion pack prevents it nintendo could still think of a way around it.
Yeah this is one Zelda game I really want to play. Hopefully it makes it over soon.
It has nothing to do with saving the game, the expansion pak added ram which allowed greater visuals. theres no reason why they couldn't work it out for vc, unless wii can barely handle emulating regular n64 games. but from my experience(only have paper mario) it emulates n64 with ease, so the whole rumor about them not being able to put majoras mask or donkey kong64 on vc is pure bs in my eyes. the ram upgrade was 4mb to 8mb, i dunno what that means in terms of emulating but thats not a huge jump.from wiki: ''The Expansion Pak is a RAM add-on for the Nintendo 64 game console, released in 1999. It doubles the total amount of RAMBUS RDRAM in the Nintendo 64 from 4MB to 8MB. This allows for greater screen resolution, more detailed graphics, and a higher frame rate.''

Best games with wii zapper

Curious as to which games are the best for the wii zapper or any of the gun holders for the wii remote and nunchuk.Best games with wii zapper
I personally think that the zapper is unnecessary but I guess RE:UC is good with the zapper.Best games with wii zapper
Curious as to which games are the best for the wii zapper or any of the gun holders for the wii remote and nunchuk.
I would have to say Call of Duty World at War.

Freek666, why do you think the title is an oxy moron? Also anyone else think the perfect shot is a better alternative to the zapper....it seems like it does to me...thoughts?
I heard Perfect Shot was better. But i haven't tried it out for myself, so I can't really give any personal input.
I have the Perfect Shot. It's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy much better than the Wii Zapper. As for shooting games I have these:

Ghost Squad

Resident Evil: UC

I'm getting the Conduit if it turns out to be good.
none. The zapper sucks.
I thought you had to shake the nun-chuck in UC and therefore the zapper was particularly unsuitable for it.
I'd say Resident evil umbrella chronicles and Links cross bow challenge.
House of dead 2 and 3 return

    i hope so too
Oh my games list it has the three Wii disc games that I registered, and then 2 WiiWare games and 2 Virtual Console games, I'm hopinh that those aren't the only games that will work with the coin thing because I have 20 other VC games and WiiWare titles that I bought it's only fair.

Is a Wii gun dumb for games where you'll ...

I'm thinking of getting the Nyko Perfect Shot Wii Gun for Resident Evil 5 but I am wondering if it will be dumb for a game like that because a lot of the time you will a gun that is totally different than the what the Perfect Shot gun looks like (e.g. you may be using shotgunds, machine guns etc.)?Maybe the Wii gun accesories are only good for games where you always have a pistol only in the game.Any thoughts? Is a Wii gun dumb for games where you'll ...
Who really cares about what the plastic shells looks,it only helps to shoot, geezIs a Wii gun dumb for games where you'll ...
I think you mean Resident Evil 4 not Resident Evil 5.
I think the guns are dumb. Plus i don't think you'll need one for RE5 since it is currently not wii-bound.
    Sorry - I meant ''Resident Evil 4''.
Personally, I don't think the plastic gun is really necessary for the shooting games =/
I think the Nyko's Perfect Shot is pretty cool. Perhaps it more useful for Umbrella Chronicles or House of the Dead
But does anyone find it odd using a pistol shapped gun in a game when they are using a shotgun, flamethrower etc. inside the game?
I don't use Nyko's perfect shot. Their controllers are downright crap. I use the Wii Zapper, an official Wii Remote gun, which is great for Link's Crossbow Training, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, and Call of Duty: World at War.
But does anyone find it odd using a pistol shapped gun in a game when they are using a shotgun, flamethrower etc. inside the game?
Last time I checked you don't go duck hunting with a pistol either, but that doesn't mean it isn't a fun way to play a game that way?

Worst Wii Game in Your Collection

~Post what Wii game you dislike the most out of your collection~Mine is Mario Party 8. Worst Wii Game in Your Collection
Zelda Crossbow Training... I could never really get into it...Worst Wii Game in Your Collection
No More Heroes ... Absolutely unplayable after the first two missions. The game has so much potential, but so little content.
    Super Paper Mario
Lego Star Wars, but I still like it.
Carnival Games. . . It was an impulse buy because it was only $20 and i thought it would be fun. I was wrong. . .dead wrong. . .
Wii Play. its just so boring.
None. I only have quality titles for my Wii.
    Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

    Wii Best Replay Value

Which game has the best replay value, I want a game that I can play for hours and it would still be funTwilight PrincessMetroid Prime 3 Corruption or Super Paper Mario Wii Best Replay Value
Go with either Zelda TP or Metroid Prime 3 out of that list. Twilight Princess won't give you the best replay value, but it will give you the longest and most engrossing single play-through (it took me 50 hours to beat). Metroid is also great, but it is shorter (>20 hours). However, Metroid has various difficulty settings that allow you to go back and have a more worthwhile replay experience. All said, if I were you I'd get TP.Wii Best Replay Value
If you're willing to buy something not from the games you listed, I'd try Tales of Symphonia or Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World. They're both really long, plenty of side quests, and rpg's, so really, you can consider it ''replay'' until you level up your characters to max.
None of them have great replay but Twilight Princess takes forever to just get through once. If you want a great replay get Resident Evil 4.
SSBB oviously... wario ware and mario party 8 with 4 friends

I know there is the ability to buy skins for the Wii. But, there are no other color options for the Wii as of yet. Maybe in a year or two, we'll see some other colors.
If you don't mind voiding your warranty, there are mod cases for the Wii. I don't know if I'd recommend that though. I think buying a skin or just leaving it white would be better. I put stickers on my Wii XD, since the sides are perfect for them. (not the skin type of stickers, but normal everyday stickers. What was your son's grade when he finished the grand prix? To get a star he has to win all races with a bit of a lead. It's frustrating but he will get it if he keeps trying.
What does a ''one star ranking'' mean? My son just got 1st in three races and 3rd (right at the finish) in the 4th and I noticed it had a ''B'' ranking. I'm not really sure when you will get a star ranking, but usually winning all 4 races will do. Maybe the total time is a criterium too, I don't know.
I'm pretty sure that he must win all the races in order to get a star.

So, he needs to try to get a ''one star ranking'' on each of the cups. If he does this, he should unlock Bowser Jr. based upon your description of the goal. Good luck to him!

Though, I do fear for the original racy (even though funny), being a problem, and characters like Piston Honda, Magic Tiger (I think that's his name), etc. might be cut from the game due to the society of today. They don't want a lawsuit, so it might be inevideable folks.I don't understand though....from the videos it looks like it controls exactly like the orignal (which is fine). Neither do I. I've never heard of Wii Boxing?

Be nice to use the balance board to detect when you lean in conjuction with the wii mote. Although I accept people might not like this it's a possible option.Phil
They can have motion controls if they want, but classic controls better be in there too. Imaging playing a 'tyson' equivalent boss with motion controls... one mis-read and you die. And we all know how often motion controls mis-read. I figured better graphics would have been in that top 10 somewhere... guess not.

Am I going to regret this ??

I just bought my boys Guitar Hero World Tour Complete Bundle for Xmas. Should I have bought Rock Band 2 instead? What are your thoughts? Am I going to regret this ??
Dang, that is a looooong sig. On topic: both games are pretty good, but i think RB is better.Am I going to regret this ??
Have the slip? Both games are great but I think Rock Band might be the better value overall
Nah, it's a good game. I think the unstruments for Guitar Hero are also compatible with Rock Band 2, so the option to get that game without getting more instruments is there.
No, you won't regret it there both equally good.
Rock band 2 works with the instrements from guitar hero...or so ive heard i would just buy the rock band 2 game without instrements
Both are good, I would say it depends on which setlist you think is better. There are actually quite a few songs that are on both games.
I would pick GH: WT but rock band 2 has the downloadable songs
I used to love the first guitar hero's (still do), but the third one was not for me. Maybe because i bought it for the ps2 or maybe its because i don't like the gritty style of neversoft. Then i tried rock band for the Wii and it seemed more cleaner and more mystyle. Both games are great, but i am leaning toward the Rock Band side.
    I prefer Rock Band.
I would pick GH: WT but rock band 2 has the downloadable songs
Doesn't World Tour have downloadable songs too?

I would pick GH: WT but rock band 2 has the downloadable songs
Doesn't World Tour have downloadable songs too?
Yes, they both have Downloadable content. But anyways, Both games are great, but if you want my Opinion, if they liked GH:WT, get them or have them buy RB2 later (And I mean just the disk), because you can use the GH instramunts with RB2.
So am I reading correctly about every instrument needing a Wiimote? Like the guitar, drums and mic? Can someone clear this up for me please? Thanks
go to ign and read the review for rock band 2, i thought he said something that you can play rock band 2 with guitar heroes instruments so you should just buy the copy of the game. all in all, you'll be fine.
Have the slip? Both games are great but I think Rock Band might be the better value overall
did you rent both of them to know they're great?
For the Wii, Nintendo has only two releases planned, both remakes of GameCube games designed to support the Wii Remote's motion-sensing capabilities. The self-explanatory New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis and New Play Control! Pikmin will both launch in March.Nintendo's DS lineup is a little more robust, spearheaded by the March 22 launch of Pokemon Platinum for the DS. Platinum reuses characters and settings from Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl in a franchise tradition dating back to Pokemon Yellow for the original Game Boy, a pseudo-sequel that incorporated elements of the previously released Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue.Beyond Diamond, Nintendo has two more DS games planned through March. Up first will be Personal Trainer: Math on January 12, an arithmetic addition to the practical game series that started with Personal Trainer: Cooking. Those looking for something a little more gamey can try Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on February 16. The latest release in the turn-based strategy series will be a remake of the original NES Fire Emblem (which never made it to North America) with new touchscreen controls.(GameSpot)
Nintendo's titles are in BLUE italics. People need to stop complaining about the lineup. There's like 5 good games coming out and quite frankly, with the economy the way it is, we should all be buying less videogames anyway- why? Because there are more important things in life. Not to mention we know for a fact we have better games coming out later like Punchout!! and the Conduit. If you need a new game every three weeks then you have a problem, not nintendo. Not trying to be rude, just a little ticked about all the hate.
Im interested in quite a few games
No Punch-out!!? Us europeans got it in our first quarter list...
Well Europe usually goes that way because it's the weakest region for gamingIt's the same reason Wii Fit and Mario Kart before North America. They're still trying to build up the base of customers before they release it in areas they're sure to get big numbers.
yes, that is a little pathetic on Nintendo's part.I understand they have can't support the entire catalog for the system (which is fine), but for god's sake, release a decent game once in a while. It's sad the last somewhat good game they released was MKWii, and again...when was that? Now we get two ports. Nice....I hope the big boys they spend on time on from here on out are epic because imo...they are going to lose alot of people (that play games on a regular basis) unless 3rd parties drop continuous bombs on us from here on out. It is possible, the DS obviously has shown that. But I'm still a little about the future of the Wii. We'll see though I honestly hope with all this new cash they've been receiving (and will keep receiving) they buy up a few more dev's like Retro, or at least expand their department. Then, maybe we can get some new IP's once in awhile

Wii versions of 3rd party games actually ...

Shaun White Snowboarding scored a 7.5 on Wii, and a 5.0 on 360 and PS3.Sonic Unleashed scored a 7.0 on Wii, and a 3.5 on the other two.Obviously, it's still too early to call, but hopefully this could signal the beginning of third-party developers actually ''getting their best content out for Wii'', as Reggie said they needed to a month or two ago.Wii versions of 3rd party games actually ...

The wii will always be on top if the game has alot of interactivity. I mean If the Wii Fit bored didn't cost so much hell id be tempted toward buying Shaun White.

The wii hasn't got many hardcore games, its still very casual in my opinion. 2009 will change that I think.
Cell shadedLink doesn't speakNo crappy twists like becoming a dogEnhance the basic Zelda formula instead of adding extras that don't work
Yeah I hope no more transforming into animals and other stuff
Cell shadedLink doesn't speakNo crappy twists like becoming a dogEnhance the basic Zelda formula instead of adding extras that don't work
I agree, I can't think of anything extra added other than changing into a dog. They need more new features, this is what sets it apart from the other good Zelda games, and the gameplay quality is just not at the same level. It doesn't separate itself like the others do and this hurts it if you ask me.
Challenge. Something the series has been sorely lacking since it went 3D.
I want voice acting for the next Zelda game

Challenge. Something the series has been sorely lacking since it went 3D.
I agree more challenge Phantom Hourglass was easy for me Voice acting would be awesome if they had the right voices for the characters that would fit them.
I like how in TP they had the hidden skills, wish they would do some more things like that. Even something where it didn't automatically kill the creatures or whatever, just some sort of sword skills beyond the same ones we've seen previously.

I'd hope they get off the side quests that give rupees. I mean, you don't have to do the side quests anyway cause they just help make the game easier, but serious.

Possibly some new items. The Ball and Chain in TP is a great example.

Open up the scenery a bit, make it so that it isn't a flat plain to work with. Other games are utilizing the walls, it would be nice to see that as well.

Not exactly a big request, but make the games a bit longer. Get more involved with the story or something.

Would love to return the music. OoT, MM, and Wind Waker all had that sort of musical aspect somewhere in the game, then it got lost.

Perhaps a story continuation. They try to make it seem like the stories are connected, but fail in my opinion except with OoT and MM.

Getting really technical, I would love a sequence where you get to use your arrows solely beyond the side games. I must have done that alien invasion on 20 times before I moved on to finish the rest of the game.

Stealth aspect. I love trying to figure out how to get through an area where I have to not be seen.

Would be fun to see them utilize the Wii board in some part.

Make the twist appear later in the game. It always comes to earlier IMO so you know something bad is gonna happen that makes you head out and do more things. It's gotten to the point I can tell the twist is coming soon cause I've almost finished the first quest they set me out to finish.

I'm all for more challenging puzzles, dungeons, etc. If they do any transformations again, make it something interesting (kinda how MM used that idea). Not sure if I'd want voice acting, just because it sorta takes the series out of it's original aspect, but it will probably go in that direction anyway.
Cell shadedLink doesn't speakNo crappy twists like becoming a dogEnhance the basic Zelda formula instead of adding extras that don't work
As much as it would please a few of us, I'm sad to say that Link's cell shaded days probably over. Luckily, so are his days of becoming a dog!I think about it and I really can't figure out just how they should enhance the basic Zelda formula. Obviously, the next game is going to be made with the Wii in mind so the controls will most likely revolve around that, but changing the controls isn't really going to change the formula at all. If the only thing they do is make the game wiimote friendly, I'll probably be sorely disapointed. So what can they do? Add crazy new items? A different way of moving through the story (more open perhaps)? Give the game a level system ala Zelda II?
Story wise Id like it set a 100 years after WW. The world is dying because the Triforce buried in the deep blue sea, Link and zelda must find a way to get it backwithin those 100 years a great field has formed from the seeds that the original korok had sown most of the oceans are covered no sailing, new creatures have formed and spread through out the world and in habit the great field known as Pokemon collect them all (needed to complete all dungeons but pokemon are not area pacific + over-world travel) well people complained about the fields being empty in Oot %26 TP The Korok have evolved into pikmen and are very useful in the lostwoods/inner deku tree dungeon where the great deku tree is dead and you need to get the pikmen to carry the last deku seed to safety from the skull kids parasites (metroids probably) main and only weapons: the hero sword, the hero bow, bomb, boomerang you start the game with all weapons, in fact to complete any of the dungeons you only need these four weapons and to collect and use the right Pokemon there is basically no other essential itemsthis game goes all the way back to Zelda roots with the main focus being on exploration and being open rather being plot driven
-1:1 sword controls (a challenging boss with a sword duel would be heaven for me)-link stays silent-no stupid transformations (the wolf in TP became completley useless after you get the master sword except for the sense which was stupid and teleport which should have been able to be used as a human.)-more than one ''world'' (and make it a complete one. WW and TP were terrible when it came to this. Hyrule in WW was so small. when i first got there, i was so exited untill i realized i couldnt go anywhere. TP's twilight realm was just as tiny. i want a entire new place to explore when i get there, not just a dungeon.
No cell shaded. That belongs on the DS.
I just want a new Zelda game. I'll leave it up to Nintendo to come up with things I never knew I wanted in a Zelda game rather than anticipate things I think should be in it. I know the things I don't want, Cell-Shading or voice acting of any kind. Although I'll admit, I'm hoping for a fully orchestrated score....
Cell shaded
I still remember that Spaceworld 2002 trailer of the new Zelda. Oh, how the people cried. How ''Cel-da'' became a joke around forums. How people screamed and cried for Link to go back to his ''true'' (lolz) Ocarina of Time self. So we get the announcement of Twilight Princess and everyone's happy again. Until they (seemingly) play it. And now we want the cel-shading back. What a wild trip it's been. (mind you, I would not be against Zelda taking the Prince of Persia graphical design. That game is gorgeous. I am however totally against Zelda being a Saturday morning cartoon again, and that's what Wind Waker was. What an epic disappointment)
mind you, I would not be against Zelda taking the Prince of Persia graphical design. That game is gorgeous.
Ah yeah yeah! I agree I agreee!
When you look at the history of Zelda games, at least a few of them have been revolutionary- The first Zelda, and Ocerina of Time both impacted the gaming industry in HUGE ways. Now Twilight Princess was (in my opinon) a VERY polished, very well-done game. But it didn't actually intruduce anything we've never seen before (aside from being the first example of how the Wii remote can enhance gameplay).Nintendo has alread said they are going in a new direction this time, and I think that whatever they come up with should be a huge step forward- not just for the series but for gaming.I think at least one way they could do this is by using Wii motion plus to create the most immersive experience gaming has ever seen. But who knows, sometimes Nintendo just surprises everyone. Thier best products are unexpected, they take everyone by surprise.
I ahve a couple of sugestions 1- NO MORE GANONDORF!!- i dont know about you but im tired of killing ganondorf over and over again. It was not even funny in TP when Zant went like ''oh and by the way ganondorf is back waiting ofor you in the castle...'' Im sick of this. Besides, new villains are always awesome, who didnt love Majora, Vaati, Veran, Onox and all the cool bad guys who are not a giant pig?2- New story- its obvious but necesary. It feels repetitive to go throwgh the same story over and over again. maybe getting link in a medieval war would be cool.3- Make it harder- TP was easy... give us intense combat and dificult puzzles only hardcore gamers can solve. If nintendo is still worried about the casual gamers then make some adjustable dificulty settings.4- Bring back dark link!!!-An epic duel between dark link and link would be awesome.5- more horse battles- please, they were cool. I want more.6-If necesary, maybe have link go to another land. PErhaps have majoras mask link go to another land when hes older and have a cool story there.7- Harder bosse. Bosses are meant to be hard and challenging, not pushovers. Please nintendo, make them hard, imposible if necesary!!!8-Rewarding sidequests please! Its frustrating in OOT to get 100 skultulas for 200 rupee and the 120 poe souls in TP for the same amount of money. Make some optional superpowerful sword a reward, like in OOT with the biggoron sword or the guilded sword in MM or even the lv 3 swords in Oracles.9- get rid of ganondorf, im tired of him to the extent i feel it necesary to repeat it. Please nintendo, i know ganondorf is like mario's bowser but please, get rid of him. Hes only holding the series back by giving us the same cliche with the master sword and the evil pig.10- Voice acting- make it optional. like if you could chose whether to have text, voice acting or both. That would please everyone.

    Christmas Gift Help

Hi Guys, Ignore the PS3 and Xfire signature for a moment pleaseThis is my first post in the wii forum and im after some help. I have a wii at home, we mainly got it for everyone to play when nothing is on the TV. We have the Free game that came with the Wii (Sports) and Gutair Hero. We all played it for a while, but slowly got bored. it became an effort to play it and my mum ad dad would really only join in, they would never turn the wii on. So can you please suggest some games I can get everyone playing for Christmas.Wario Ware or Mario Party like gamesAll suggestions welcomeThanks for reading Christmas Gift Help
Mario Kart Wii is the first thing that comes to mind. There is four player split screen support and two player online support. The wheel that comes with it may seem silly but it's rather fun when you get the hang of it. I highly recommend it. Super Smash Bros Brawl is anthor option though I'm not sure the WHOLE family might enjoy it. Even the Solo modes has two player options. There are countless Virtual Console games that have two player action. Bubble Bobble, Streets of Rage1,2,and,3, Contra C and Super Contra 3, Secret of Mana has three player support, Bomberman 93', ect,. Oh yeah, I recommend Boom Blox! It's an awesome family game. Anyone can pick it up and everyone who understand basic physics will know how to play. Hope this helps. Christmas Gift Help
mario kart for sure. its fun for casual players as well as seasoned gamers. i have it and my whole family plays it, but i cant ever get them to play brawl with me. if you dont have 4 wii-motes already wii play is an excellent way to get one. controller plus a few more games for $50 is a great deal.ive played mario party 8. its quite fun, but takes a while. if you're looking for something for the non-gaming members of your family they may get bored before you can finish a match.
I would also recommend Mario Kart, my inlaws enjoy playing it. What are your parents interests? Get something that is geared to their interest and they will play it.
There a sticky for Wii game recommendations.

    something i have noticed

i know this is kind of random, but i have noticed that only nintendo has changed it's controller shape. microsoft and sony have kept the same general shape and design. i'm not saying that this is a bad thing, i'm just wondering why microsoft and sony haven't changed anything something i have noticed
    A few reasons.

    1) When you first change your controller to something that is at first as ridiculous sounding as a remote shaped object, people will laugh at you.

    2) Sony and Microsoft are afraid of being laughed at for changing their controller to a remote

    3) It's a risk. It might work, it might not. With Nintendo, I guess you could say it paid off. It scares off some developers, but it invites some developers (too bad most of them are shovel ware though)

    4) If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    5) The type of games that Microsoft and Sony think their customers will like, are better suited to traditional game pads. The Wii does support traditional controllers though (GC and Classic).

    6) There's probably more reasons.something i have noticed

    and its less work
Sony tried to change their shape... to that boomerang thing. And everyone screamed, cause it really was the stupidest thing ever. So they up and went back to the old shape. The PS2/PS3 controller still feel kind of wrong to me though. I like the gamcube controller, and really like the xbox controller. And the Wii is its own thing.
I agree with the PS3 controller it feels too light to me when i play my buddys i think im gonna snap it in half. Xbox controller FTW
Keep in mind, it's Playstation 3 and XBox 360. The first Playstation and the first XBox systems both had basically the same controller. If the Wii were the Gamecube 2, the controller shape would probably remain nearly the same as the first Gamecube, that's my guess. The Wii is a brand new system, and the other 2 consoles are like sequels.

    But it is broke.
This topic would have been better in System Wars.

I went with Mario because they've been around and are usually pretty awesome. Plus I grew up with it. However, Pikmin would probably take the crown if there were a couple more games out for it. I really enjoyed both of the Pikmins as they were creative and refreshing.
    Zelda, zelda of course zelda!
Kirby, but since it's not on there, Legend of Zelda.
Kirby, but since it's not on there, Legend of Zelda.
Kirby isn't one of Miyamoto's creations. Therefore I didn't list him. The only games that Miyamoto made that I didn't list were the Wii games (Wii fit and Wii music etc)

Zelda has always been my favorite franchise, then

    Mario

    Starfox

    F-Zero

    Pikmin
Zelda a lot, but you probably should have included Donkey Kong
Zelda! for me because I Haven't played Starfox and F-zero
Mario = funnestZelda = least flaws, polished the mostOthers = good but can't compare. Pikmin doesn't really count since it only has 2 games, but I voted for it cause the 2nd one is EXTREMLY underrated and IMO it's just as good as SMG and OoT, but that's just me.

This is a hard choice to make. There's Pikmin, but then there's Mario, Zelda, etc.Though, Pikmin's charm has really won me over and it is something I don't see often enough. So, I guess Pikmin has my vote. But don't forget a few of his other game franchises (regardless of how small they are). Also, he helped produce plenty of many notable titles such as Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, etc.
    • Ice Climbers
    • Donkey Kong
    • Devil World (Not a US, but still mentioning it.)
    • Yoshi (I guess you could sorta count this as Mario)
    • Wave Race (He was producer, so I suppose this counts on some level...correct me if I'm wrong)
    • Producer of the first Mother title
    • Nintendogs
    • Wii Series
He's an amazing man and I hope everyone realizes this.
Mario just ahead of Zelda both are amazing series.
Zelda for me, but Mario comes in a close second.

So i just ordered a wii....

Hi all,so i just ordered a wii, iv wanted one since it came out but they were always out of stock whenever i had money. Im a huge nintendo fan and so im quite excited,i just hope it comes in time for xmas! The new animal crossing has come out and i really want it but is it exactly the same as wild world on the DS? Im also interested in mario kart and was wondering how it differs to the one on the gamecube and does it have the usual battle mode where you have to pop eachother balloons and stuff cos i love the battle mode the best. :DSo i just ordered a wii....
Mark kart on the Wii is great game and has all the usual Kart modes including battle mode. Also they all can be played online, this is one of the best online game for the Wii. So i just ordered a wii....
Mariokart is an awesome game and has the usual modes (Both online and offline). One thing to know though, MarioKart has a bunch of cheaters online so battle mode would probably be best offline or against people you know online. I'll give you my friend code info if you want as I am one of the only honest gamers left that doesn't cheat in video games.
animal crossing city folk is not exactly the same as wild world on the DS. it is a different game. it is just the same series. Mario kart wii has the mode where you have to pop each others' balloons but now you have to have exactly 2 teams only, rather than the usual free for all. I highly reccomend getting Mario Kart Wi. and good choice getting a wii :)

And City Folk and is kinda like Wild World but alittle different.
Like everyone is saying, Mario Kart is great. Animal crossing is fun too, but it's basicly just the gamecube version plus the ds one, so there isn't a lot of new content. I recomend first getting Galaxy for single player and Brawl for multiplayer. However, if you're really interested in online Mario Kart is better for that. Metroid is awesome also.
Mario Kart is good, but I think it is very cheap once you get to the higher modes, and playing on online. It will make you want to throw the wiimote out the window when the computer hits you with a blue shell, red shell and lightning bolt in a 30 second time span, causing you to go from 1st to 8th in a blink of an eye. The online is still fun.

    Starfox Adventures

I've got about 20 GC games to play on my Wii that were given to me by two of my friends when I first got my Wii including Sunshine, Pikmin, RE, RE4 and plenty of others, one of those is Starfox Adventures which I decided to play last night and it's great at least I think it is anyway. Now I'm no expert but I swear this looks as good as any current Wii game available even SMG. So is the Wii really more powerful than the GC? I just wondered what people thought, not trying to bash my Wii because it's my only current gen console. Starfox Adventures
Its slightly more powerful than the Xbox, but not by much. Im not sure if that includes graphical effects though, or if that just applies to raw power. I think the problem is that, apart from Nintendo, nobody can really get the best out of the system. However, Factor 5 are working on a Wii game I think, and they are definitely the type of dev that can get results. This is one of the reasons Rogue Squadron looked so good on the GC. Again, a lot of Xbox screens have been compared to the Wii and look much better - but the potential is there for sure. Devs assume nobody cares about Wii graphics (partly true) so they dont feel they need to waste time and effort on them.Starfox Adventures

Haha she sounds like fun mate.

If you have both games, play one then the other straight afterwards, or side by side if possible, and I think you'll see a fair difference. Don't get me wrong, SFA is a good looking game but Galaxy blows it out of the water. You're right about Rare, they did used to make some great (and great looking) games on Nintendo systems, but I think Nintendo themselves would also know a thing or two about coding for their own system.
rare had a gift of squeezing amazing things out of nintentdo hardware from a technical standpoint. starfox adventures made my jaw drop on multiple occasions (*slight spoiler* the water temple is something else). how they got the game running on the GC i just dont know. there wasnt even any loading screens if i remember. how cool was that?

the game wasnt particulary brilliant imho. a bit bring and repetative. but it was definately one of those games u used when wanted to show ure GC off.

is the Wii more powerful? yup. there are a few areas where adventures beats galaxy in the graphical department (like the moving grass) but overall galaxy is technically more sophisticated. the game has a bigger draw distance, a more sophisticated lighting, reflection and refraction system and it uses a hell of alot more shader tricks than adventures. the levels in galaxy are also alot more interactive than in adventures. galaxy wouldnt work on the GC without some compromises in the technical department.

then theres the conduit. first i will say that adventures has the conduit beaten in the art department (one of my gripes with the conduit at the mo). adventures is alot more consistent with the quality of its textures. bbut from a technical standpoint, again, the conduit puts adventures to the sword. it does everything adventures does (bar the nice grass trick in adventures) and more. better, more reactive water. more detailed alien enemies (the humam enemies in the conduit still look a bit narly imho...theres one of the consistency problem). better lighting and so on.

other games like monster hunter 3 (which looks very kewl) would also have adventures beaten.

it would be interesting to see what rare could do with the wii though. they really had a knack for getting the best out of ninty hardware, going all the way back to the snes. factor 5 (who also did amazing things on the GC) are putting there money where there mouth is though. they have commented in the past that developers were basically embarrasing themselves on the wii. now there making a wii game. so itll be interesting to see ho that turns out. apparently they already have the engine they made for lair on the PS3 working on the wii. thats not to say that we will see lair levels of visuals but its going to be interesting.
Now that was a well reasoned post and I will put them against each other and see what I think.I haven't played all of Adventures yet, barely played it for 2 hours so far, but I have to say I didn't realise how good it looks until I started playing it and it works perfectly well on my 37'' LCD tv as well.Phil
glad u enjoy the game. ive met a few others than myself that actually like it. but seriously, SMG? nothing in the gc could match that games visuals. adventures was a beautiful game (and i hope to see a sequal regardless what anyone says) but its nothing compared to galaxy.
Factor 5 and various blogs argue Gamecube was equal with Xbox when it comes to graphics. The Wii has a CPU three times faster then the NGC, it can produce four times as many Polygons in game with the effects turned on, it has better RAM and can produce shaders we enjoy on PS3 and Xbox 360. The problem is Nintnedo, they consider their hardware specs propriety and didnt even give third parties the specs for the remotes accelerometer so far only High Volatage have taken time to find out how Wii can work though we may really see what it can do through Factor 5.
The Wii is more powerful, that is a given. Though, I too enjoy how well Starfox Adventures looks, art-style and all, and I wish more Gamecube games looked as good as it. However, graphics alone (as previously stated) aren't the only things extra power can do. Better engines, draw distance, AI, etc. are improved through stronger hardware.Plus, other than Nintendo and a few other select companies out there, most don't utilize the true power of the Wii. Eventually, we'll see more developers utilizing it's hardware.
Starfox Adventures is a pretty GC game but it's not up to par with Super Mario Galaxy imo. Anyway yes the Wii is technically more powerful by 1.5x on the cpu and gpu and 64 mb more ram, which is a little more than 3x.
hmm... i remember hating SFA... and thats it.

    and fox looked weird there...

and twilight princess (another GC game) looked better. and if galaxy looks better than TP, then galaxy looks better than SFA.
I'm sorry SFA absolutely looks beter than Twilight Princess and thats the Wii version.I was challenging people on the forums with my SMG comments although if SMG is the Wiis best looking game we need to hope for better in the future.
Twilight Princess on Wii is a GC port game with Wii mote tacked on..unfortunately. If the specs produce by Ninti is correct, then obviously so far,,no one has manage to properly develop for Wii even Ninti themselves %26 so the myth that its similar to GC hence easier to develop has been a load of croc.. I agree with your last comment abt SMG. Or that Wii IS actually just a GC with motion sensing, %26 we've all been duped..hence why we're just getting GC level graphcis %26 ninti being so secretive abt the Wii specs.

    Pics War!!Textures:LightningFur:
If the pics were taken from the same source on the same PC at the same time then I'll be happy to respond but I seriously think all of the Screens of Starfox online don't do it justice.Phil
Yeah that must be some pretty heavy hallucinatory gear!

  • If the Metroid Prime series is a trilogy ...

...then what is Metroid Prime: Hunters for ds? It has the ''Prime'' label, and it was the third ''prime'' game to come out, so why isn't that 3 and ''corruption'' 4? My brain hurts. Can someone explain? I'm sure this has been brought up before, but humor me.If the Metroid Prime series is a trilogy ...
Its a side story I think unimportant to the prime trilogy. I think it is a prime game because it is 3d.If the Metroid Prime series is a trilogy ...
Honestly, I think MP:H and MP:P were spin-offs. The Metroid Primes that were on consoles were developed by Retro Studios(these are the canon) while MP:H was developed by NoA(I think).

Retro meant for their games to be a trilogy maybe. idk, just speculatin.
    It doesn't exist.
It doesn't exist.
What doesnt exist? The game? Well it does exist.

Anyway it is just a spinoff and doesnt have to do with the 3 console prime games
If Metroid was a comic series Hunters would be an annual
The Metroid Prime games are are trilogy. Hunters and Pinball are just spin-offs. Hunters is indeed canon and takes place between Prime 1 %26 2 and Metroid Prime Pinball was just a re-telling of the first Prime game.
Hunter and Pinball were spin-offs like everyone else said. Not really part of the trilogy but part of the Prime series. Well that sorda makes sense :)
Metroid Prime on the consoles is a Trilogy because Retro Studios developed it.Metroid Prime Hunters takes place between Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes it was developed by NST (Nintendo Software Technology) so it isn't part of the Trilogy.Metroid Prime Pinball is a pinball style remake of Metroid Prime developed by Fuse Games the same company that made Mario Pinball Land.
Was this really difficult to understand?
Well I guess that clears that up then. I just always thought it was a bit odd that it was called a trilogy when there's actually four games. I guess its just a side story though.
Metroid Prime Hunters is a spin off it isn't apart of the Metroid Prime trilogy.
are we gunna see no more metroid fps?
are we gunna see no more metroid fps?
I hope the next one isn't. I would like to see a 2.5D Metroid for the DS
are we gunna see no more metroid fps?
I wouldn't worry about that. I think Retro is working on something else currently, but Nintendo isn't about to drop one of their top franchises. I liked the old metroids, but I really enjoyed the Prime trilogy. I hope they continue with the same 3D style with sharper controls and a deeper story.
are we gunna see no more metroid fps?
The Wiimakes of MP1 %26 2 - That's it. Don't hold your breath for a new console Metroid anytime soon.
I think we will see a new metriod on the Wii before the Wii lifetime is up. It may not be 3d. Retro is working on a multiplatform project last i read(gameinformer) and im sure that we will see samus return soon. There hasnt been a metroid on the ds yet......and since the prime series is so popular(awesome) im sure there will be more. we just need to be patient. Prime 3 came out like 15 months ago, so i doubt we will see anything for atleast another year.

Nintendo owns Retro so I doubt Nintendo would let them work on a title for another system (besides the DS).
hunters wasnt part of the prime trilogy. they slapped on the name prime because it was in FP. the prime trilogy is the 3 with metroid prime in them.
