i tried connecting to the wii shop channel and my wii is stuck on ''connecting. please wait...'' for atleast 10 minutes. my internet is working fine as you can see im posting this... i dont know whats wrong, it wont shut up using the power button on the control, console, or even the reset button. i have tried pulling the power but obviously that would work but im afraid it might mess something up... any ideas? this happen to anyone else? any info will be appreciated.frozen!
As long as you arent actualy updating your wii or anything, unpluging it shouldn't do any harm. I would leave it for half an hour or so to see if it does something. if not, you have no choice but to unplug it, so if it does break then it should be covered by the warantee because it was the system freezing which lead to it breaking, which is their fault not yours.frozen!
Try keeping the power button pushed until it turns off.
everyone is trying to download Donkey Kong at once. it's going to be slow.
ok i shut it off and when i turn the wii back on, i have a letter that says i was on the shop channel for 20 minutes... lol anyway, it works now, thanks guys!
the same thing happens to me, I just turn it off at the wall, and I doesn't ruin it at all, it only happens with the shop channel.
Did you just get your Wii? If so, check what channel your routers on, make sure its either 1 or 11, because most routers default to 6.
everyone is trying to download Donkey Kong at once. it's going to be slow.
That's probably true...
Same thing happened to my girl when she was connecting to animal crossing.. when she unplugged the wii fromt he wall it turned off but now it wont turn back on.. and theres no light to indicate power is going to the wii...

If it is not that then just try later.
